Solvent consumption is the core economic index of edible oil solvent extraction process, which refers to the consumption of solvent per ton of crude oil, which directly determines the production cost and equipment technology of oil plants.

The solvent will not be 100% recovered in solvent extration production, and a small amount of loss mainly comes from tail gas volatilization, residual dissolution of meal, residual dissolution of crude oil, waste water taking away and leakage of equipment seal.

General industry standard

High-quality production line: within 0.8kg/ ton of crude oil.

Normal standard: 1.0–2.0 kg/ton crude oil.

Old equipment, poor recovery: more than 3kg/ ton, high cost.

The lower the solvent consumption, the better the recovery system, the better the equipment sealing, the advanced technology and the higher the profit. On the other hand, if the consumption is too high, it will cause waste of raw materials, rising costs and increasing potential safety hazards in the workshop.
