Palm kernel oil extraction machine main parts:
Palm fruit reception: fresh fruit bunches are transported to the reception station and weighed. Then, they would be loaded on a slop and received by the cages under the slope.
Sterilizing: FFB are transported by the scraper conveyer into the sterilizing tank. The sterilizing time is 90~120mins and the temperature is 130~145°C. The broken rate of palm kernel is reduced after sterilizing.
Threshing: fruit bunches are conveyed to the threshing machine after sterilizing to separate palm fruit and empty fruit bunches by strong vibration. Palm fruit after separation is conveyed to the pressing plant. And the empty bunches can be used as fertilizer in farmland or pressed into fuel pellets.
Crushing: palm fruit is crushed by the crusher to destroy the palm skin, separate the palm pulp and nuts and damage the cell structure of palm pulp.
Digesting: the purpose of digesting is to adjust the moisture content of palm kernels to optimum level through steam conditioning. This process takes 30 minutes at 90–100°C.
Oil pressing: after crushing and digesting, the mixture of palm fruit and kernel fall into special palm oil expeller. After pressing, oil palm fruit is divided into two parts: the mixture of oil, water and solid impurities, and the press cake (fiber and nut).
Clarification: palm oil after pressing contains 45-55% of water, sludge and other impurities. The purpose of clarification is to separate the oil from its entrained impurities, then purify the oil to get more clean oil.
Kernel recovery: the residues from the press consist of a mixture of fiber and palm nuts. Palm nuts can be crushed into palm kernel and shell after separated with fiber. Shells are sent to the boiler system as fuel, and palm kernels are pressed by palm kernel oil mill machine.
Palm kernel oil filteration: the vibrating filter is used to filter the oil in order to remove the impurities in palm kernel oil.
Cleaning: magnetic separator is used to remove metal debris and vibrating screen is used to remove stones and sand to improve the impurity of palm kernel oil.
Main process of palm kernel oil refinery plant:
1. Crude palm kernel oil degumming process: degumming process aims to removing the gum impurities in the crude oil to make it suitable for further refinery process. Physical oil refining is applicable because of low gum content in palm kernel oil.
2. Crude palm kernel oil deacidification/neutralization process: gas supported heat-conducting oil boiler and packed tower make high vacuum deacidification from crude palm kernel oil.
3. Crude palm kernel oil decoloring/bleaching process: the process is to remove the product of oxidation, pigments, phospholipids, soap materials from the oil. It can also improve the oil color as well as supplies high quality oil for the deodorization process.
4. Crude palm kernel oil deodorization/distillation (deodorizing unit) process: the deodorizing process can remove the fetid impurity, increase smoke point of palm kernel oil, make better taste, also improve oil stability and quality.
5. Crude Palm kernel fractionation process: it is a physical process of separating oil into different glycerol triesters at certain temperatures with no expensive or hazardous chemical additives, no chemical reaction, no loss and waste water.
